Messages to Myself: Overcoming a Distorted Self-Image by Helen B. McIntosh

Not bad. But kind of faded into the background instead of standing out.

Another book mostly for women, to reduce and change negative self talk, by filtering through God’s word.

There are plenty of books with this topic out there, and I thought this one was middle of the road. The spin is the link to God, so if that’s your thing you have a winner in this book.

So worth reading!

After reading this I have a much better understanding of how money works, what it really is, and how fiscal policy can affect the whole world, not just the economy of one country.

Complex theories explained in easy to understand ways, very interesting to read, not at all dry or boring.

Love the cover, and the book was just as good.

Really fun, breezy, with a little suspense, a little mystery and a little romance. The perfect mix for a fun read that left me smiling and feeling like the time reading this was well spent.

DNF

Image

Unfortunately DNF for me.

I was looking forward to reading, but after the first chapter I put it down and it took me a long time to pick it up again….with the same result.

Where I was expecting funny, I got flat. It was uncomfortable reading this. I didn’t feel any affection from the author towards her mother….which made it not funny and just uncomfortable reading.

Excess All Areas: A Lighthearted Look at the Demands and Idiosyncrasies of Rock Icons on Tour by Susan Richmond

Interesting, unbelievable, funny, and a bunch of WTF moments.

I think my favorite is the request for Chef Boyardee pasta. Really? you can ask for anything in the world, and that’s what you ask for?

How many towels does one person need? Read and find out what some of the Rock Icons think the answer is. Some of the stars seem kinda normal, and others are just out to lunch, at least based on their list of requests.

Worth the read if you want to shake your head, laugh and ask yourself over and over what planet they are from.

How to Get Laid Before the Main Course – A Gentleman’s Approach for the Big Date by Vimal

Different kind of book for sure. And there’s a lot of truth to the tips he gives. It’s written with humor, so you can have a laugh as you read.

The first section goes over how to get a date, and then how to behave during the date, so you can get another date. There is a section on manners and info for setting a table, some grocery and wine shopping tips and then recipes.

Guys, it wouldn’t hurt for you to read this book ;o)

Wow, I LOVED this one.

I read some of the other reviews, and don’t agree at all with the people who didn’t like the book because of slow plot, bad writing, or any other reason.

The plot is awesome. Fast paced, lots of action, story moves along and pulls you with it. I couldn’t put this one down. I didn’t have any issues with the writing, I didn’t notice anything wrong at all. Maybe I’m less picky, or maybe I was just so involved in the story that I didn’t notice anything else around me.

Really awesome book! I’m going to look for Fierce #2 on amazon right now.

Very interesting collection of unusual and little known facts about the most well known royal palaces. Fun to read, will leave you laughing at times, and raising an eyebrow at other times.
